I hate my habit of abbreviating things, later on I can never remember what they mean!
I think the way that people color things in coloring books reflects something about their character. I don't necessarily LIKE what it reflects, having just colored a Lickitung in one of my aaaaancient Pokemon coloring books a minute ago for stress-relief. My coloring methods are.... well, exact. I aim to color things exactly as they should be (you won't find any blue cows in my coloring book unless it's a blue cow Pokemon, in which case it's acceptable). I try hard to keep within the lines, and if I screw up too badly, I can't continue. I have to forget about that image as best I can. Everytime I see it, my heart will clench a little and I'll feel very very stupid. I color lightly. I try not to flatten the presharpened points of my crayons, and I try to rotate the crayon so it gets shaved at evenly on all sides. Sometimes that makes the coloring job look unbalanced, and that upsets me. After coloring just one character, I am already bored and I do not continue. This is why I have so many old coloring books left to finish: the Pokemon one, the Digimon one, the Sailor Moon one (probably won't ever color this one), two Dragon Ball Z ones- I could've sworn I had one that I got at the zoo in middle/high school, I must've left it at home.

I'm not talking about anything important, you see. Haven't done that in a while. But it still seemed interesting to me. What kind of coloring do you do?

What kind of person are you?

I'm sure I'll look back and be disappointed at my lack of life someday. I'm disappointed already. I want to live more, to try more, to... I dunno. Dunno what I mean? How to say it? Something.

I could be cultured. Or I could be charismatic. Or I could be both. Why, in my twenty years of living, have I vigilantly fought to remain in the category of neither, when it doesn't buy me anything to be there? It's worth contemplating.

I should get back to work. That paper ain't gonna write itself. It's just as disinterested in its topic as I am, hah!

*pause* Well, that helped. Daaamn, that helped a lot. For those of you who, like me, put off things that could make someone's day, don't. Seriously. Without meaning to, that just made me feel so much better.

Okay, I've written enough that I should lj-cut. Which also means it's time to stop writing. I need to read more. I can tell that now. And I'm not just saying it this time either. Just maybe not only classics or whatever. I should look into that.

'Till then, I hope everyone's been doing well. Hope you're all looking forward to Thanksgiving (uh, stuffing? Heck yes!). Gan en jie kuai le! (Happy Thanksgiving in Chinese, hehehe. I AM learning something in college, after all!)

Later, all *waves*.

There's something just so intrinsically pleasing about a new box of crayons, or colored pencils. I had one of those gigantic boxes of 128 colors, and I didn't even use them to color. I just periodically took them out to admire one by one from time to time. I'm strange.

I think cross-stitching is my coloring fix now. I've concluded that that's basically all it is, is paint-by-numbers for grownups who aren't artistically inclined enough to actually paint. But it's so intricate and takes so much patience, and it's soothing...ok I'm rambling now. G'night.

I definitely envy your cross-stitching skills, and I can understand how it could be a soothing practice (since I never learned to cross-stitch, folding laundry has always been the most relaxing thing I could think to do). What piece are you working on these days? I still have the angel piece you gave me, it's sitting right across from me on a shelf. ^_^

Hope you're enjoying your break!

Well, I just finished one of horses running on a beach at sunset, and I'm currently doing one of three kittens looking out of a window at some birds. The next one I'm going to start is a really awesome-looking one of a wizard and a dragon. ^_^
